Missing element in Earth’s inner core?

The inner section of the Earth is believed to be a solid core composed of 85% iron and 10% nickel by mass. Japanese scientists have created the high temperatures and pressures found in the interior of the Earth and believe that the missing mass is due to the element silicon.
